Green Moustache recently hosted our first annual fundraising event in support of Mary’s House Services, leaving guests with memories of an unforgettable evening filled with delectable treats and a spirit of giving. This event was not just about good food and drinks; it was about a community coming together over a shared interest in a great cause.

A Spectacular Start

The evening began with a delicious array of canapés, the crowd favourite being the Smoked Pork Hock Croquettes with a sourdough crumb and apple cider crème fraîche. Most flocked to the stunning grazing station stocked with fresh cheeses, meats, fruit and crackers and seafood enthusiasts visited the oyster station for freshly shucked East 33 Sydney Rock oysters. Drinks were flowing right from the beginning and the night was off to a great start with an air of positivity encompassing the venue.

Green Moustache Dining Experience

As guests settled into their seats for the evening, they were treated to a three-course dinner with entrees like Smoked Eggplant and Chickpea Stuffed Zucchini Flowers and Blue Swimmer Crab Fritters with
preserved lemon, duck egg, samphire, salsa verde and Yarra Valley caviar to share, followed by a choice of mains and desserts including Riverina Chargrilled Grain Fed Beef Fillet and Blood Orange Soufflé with pistachio and white chocolate. Ale from Willie The Boatman and delicious wines from Curator Wine Co in Barossa Valley accompanied the meal. The produce for the event was kindly donated by Foodlink Australia, Sydney Direct Fresh Produce, Willie The Boatman and Iain Sandler Wines meaning the majority of the ticket price went straight to Mary’s House Services.

Lizzie Pearl: An Engaging Host

The event was made even more special with the wonderful Lizzie Pearl from Channel Nine serving as the host for the evening. Her warm and welcoming presence and spectacular affort in extracting bids for the auction added an extra layer of sophistication and entertainment to the fundraiser, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

A Night of Giving Back

While the delicious food and drinks were certainly a highlight of the evening, the true essence of the event lay in its mission to support Mary’s House Services. Mary’s House is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter and support for survivors of domestic violence. The funds raised at this event will go a long way in helping Mary’s House continue its vital work in the community. A huge thanks to our generous sponsor Erilyan Construction and the businesses that donated auction items for the evening: Bang Bang Muay Thai, The Albert Mosman, Winmark Wines, Finders Distillery, Ensemble Theatre, Champagne Pommery, Bannerman’s Lawyers, Ken Done, Dan Grantham, Karma Resorts, Longview Vineyard, Pinot & Picasso North Sydney, Paringa Estate Wines, Verve Portraits, Helping Hand Group.

A Community Coming Together

What made this fundraiser truly special was the sense of community that permeated the event. Guests came together not only to enjoy an exceptional evening but also to contribute to a worthy cause. The event served as a reminder that, when we come together as a community, we can make a real and lasting impact on the lives of those in need.

Looking Ahead

The success of the Green Moustache fundraiser for Mary’s House Services is a testament to the power of compassion and generosity. As we reflect on this memorable evening, we are reminded of the importance of supporting organisations like Mary’s House that provide vital services to those facing domestic violence.
