Maggy Farago is the Executive Officer at Mary’s House. Maggy has had extensive experience in the corporate world before moving to the not-for-profit sector. Maggy is committed to social justice and has spent the last 15 years running Homelessness, Domestic Violence and Youth services including crisis, refuge, social and community housing.
In the Legal system Maggy initiated Children‘s Court Support Programs aimed at supporting young people at court and reducing the rate of youth recidivism. Maggy also works in Local Courts as part of the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Assistance Scheme supporting victims of Domestic Violence to navigate the traumatic experience of our criminal justice system. Maggy has worked extensively with both survivors and offenders of all ages and backgrounds.
Maggy is passionate about homelessness and committed to the cause of reducing violence against women and children. Maggy has chaired Domestic Violence, Homelessness and Community Housing boards and committees and was recently recognised for her work by being presented the Edna Ryan Award for services to Domestic Violence and Homelessness.
